Service Description

Do you have trouble jumping into action on stage or with your friend groups; as an improviser, do your scenes feel like they tend to "sag" or "flatline?" In Improv 202: Relationships, Students will learn what separates "great" offers from the "good," or even the dreaded "stale/dead/empty," offers; learning how to endow and support their scene partners and drive scenes to interesting and compelling story arcs with strong beginnings, middles, and ends. We will define and build confidence in improv standards like assuming familiarity on stage, being an "expert," recognizing games and when to play them, beginning scenes, endowing characters, and recognizing the "blow line," or how to end a scene, and so much more! Students will expand their improv vocabulary of warm-ups, games and performance tools, both challenging and expanding their understanding of improv scenes and techniques. Ultimately, students should leave this course feeling equipped to work with any group of improvisers or peers, and know how to support the person, while creating interesting stories by endowing and challenging the characters within a scene. Whether you still feel new to the world of improv or consider yourself a veritable pro, Improv 202: Relationships can offer heaps of tools to take your improv skills to the next level.
